Safe High-Voltage Diagnostics
Designed for the rigors of outdoor electrical operations, the UT255A allows technicians to conduct on-line measurements without interrupting power. By using the included insulation rod, users can safely reach elevated conductors to measure both load current and minute leakage currents. This capability is critical for determining the operational health of surge arresters, identifying moisture ingress, or detecting early-stage insulation failure.
Precision and Reliability
The UT255A features advanced CT (Current Transformer) and screening technologies, ensuring high accuracy across its wide measurement range. It can detect leakage currents as small as 0.01mA while handling high-current loads up to 600A. The unique “automatic plug-clamp” design allows the jaw to be easily attached to or removed from a live conductor simply by pushing or pulling the insulation rod, minimizing the time spent in the high-voltage zone.
Data Management for Field Audits
To support professional maintenance logging, the unit includes an internal memory capable of storing up to 99 sets of data. Users can toggle between real-time measurement and Peak Hold mode to capture transient spikes. For detailed analysis back at the office, the UT255A is equipped with an RS-232 interface, allowing for seamless data transfer to a PC for reporting and trend monitoring.
